Summary:A series of experiments have been done on soils, collected from the percolating regions of the steel-iron industry, which have been leached by waste water; the various soils are leached by waste water or industry waste water with different PH values, Ca(2+) contents, and F(-) densities; the powder coal ash is leached by washing water of the electric power station. Based on these experiments, author discusses the pollution of C(6)H(5)OH, CN(-), As, Cr, Pb, Zn, H(2)S, BOD, COD, F(-), Cl(-), SO(4)(2-), NO(3)(-), NH(4)(-), Na(+), and water hardness of the waste waters and law of natural purification. Measures for protecting underground water from pollution are provided.
