Summary:The major problems of ecologic environment of mines in Liaoning province include land resources being overused and destroyed, ground subsidence, landslides and mud-rock flow induced by mining, environmental pollution, marine transgression, groundwater drawdown caused by dewatering from deposits, etc. So environmental protection must be enforced: (l) to seriously implement the Party's and the State's general and specific policies on environmental protection; (2) to strengthen the construction of laws on environmental protection of mines; (3) to establish and amplify management system of mine environment; to enhance environmental monitoring and forecasting systems of mines; (4) to improve economic stimulation means; (5) to enhance the international cooperation in scientific researching; (6) to launch propagation and education on environmental protection of mines.
